High Flow Transnasal Insufflation

About TNI

TNI medical AG develops, produces, and sells for respiratory therapy. Their product range is unique in that the devices provide respiratory support both in hospitals and at home, using a new mode of respiritory support technology.

Their products are used to treat a range of respiratory insufficiencies, including bronchiolitis, COPD and sleep apnea. With their newly introduced TNI® breathing therapy, TNI medical AG focuses on maximizing patient comfort with provision of full respiratory support, leading to greater cost efficiencies.

The company was founded in August 2007 as spin-off of Seleon GmbH, an internationally top-ranking technological firm for mechanical breathing therapies.

TNI medical

TNI medical AG develops, produces, and sells for innovative devices to improve the comfort and efficacy forlong term respitory therapy. Their product range is unique in terms of the way they approach the problem of respiritory insufficiency and in the science they employ to address it.

The TNI devices are a breakthrough in both their effectiveness and in the cost of treating this range of conditions.

TNI 20 Oxy

TNI therapy with nasal insufflation Ventilation system for home care treatment of respiratory insufficiency, such as COPD Increased quality of life due to our new high-flow respiratory support system.

The TNI®20 oxy provides 5 to 20 liters/minute of a warm, humidified air-oxygen mixture through an applicator into the patient‘s nose.

During treatment the nose is not blocked, thus guaranteeing easy breathing. Therapy success is achieved in patients with COPD II to IV, Cystic Fibrosis and many others. TNI therapy is a possible addition to LTOT and a new optional alternative to mask ventilation. Mask pressure sores, leakages and phobia as well as drying out of nasal mucosa are excluded during therapy application. TNI therapy is free from any side effects.

Advantages At A Glance

  • Open system with applicator - without mask - leading to increased comfort, no pressure sores in the face, extremely easy application and removal
  • Perfect tightness, no leakages; prevention of ophthalmitis or loud noises varying with breathing
  • Allows any body position during sleep, even prone position
  • Integrated air humidification and warming; no drying out of nose and mouth
  • Easy operation and cleaning of the device Suitable for clinical applications and home care treatment
  • Adds up to 8 L/min of oxygen

Mode Of Action

  • Swirls the air-O2 mixture in the dead space volume.
  • Increases ventilation and induces CO2 washout.
  • Improves breathing efficiency: (VD/VT) and thus alveolar ventilation (VA).
  • Adds "usable" air-O2 mixture to the VD.
  • Reduces the arterial CO2 content by improving VA. (Not achievable by only administering pure oxygen)
  • Warms and humidifies the added oxygen.
  • Easier expectoration due to humidified and warm air.
